Every year, the Department organizes an important conference “Financing Forests – Wood” in cooperation with forestry professional bodies. In addition, the Department cooperates with the public administration bodies in creating normative legal acts, and cooperates with forest enterprises in creating profiles for the graduates. The Department participates in the collective membership of the Faculty of Forestry or the Technical University, respectively, in several professional associations and individual members of staff are also members of their supervisory and advisory boards
International cooperation
Regarding international cooperation, the Department collaborates with similarly oriented partner universities or research institutes especially in Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Scandinavia and the Western Balkans countries. Some of the experts from the department also occupy important positions within the IUFRO division 9 Forest policy and economics (RG 9.06.00 Forest law and environmental legislation, WP 9.05.04 Forest policies in the Baltic and CEE regions).
